Hearts Gone Wild a sold-out success
With young hearts and older hearts alike checking out the chocolates and fashions, the Hearts Gone Wild fundraising event was another successful venture by the Castlegar Hospice Society.
The event, which was hosted by Chances Gaming Centre on Saturday, was a complete sell out and raised nearly $1,500 for hospice.
"It was a grand time had by everyone," said Suzanne Lehbauer, executive director of Castlegar Hospice Society. "We sold out of every one of our 150 tickets. It was a fun evening filled with chocolate, champagne, a lingerie fashion show by Fashion Foundations and more chocolate."
There were several prizes up for grabs at the event. The biggest winners of the evening were Charity and Dared Szeles who won airfare for two to Vancouver courtesy of Pacific Coastal Airlines.
Hearts Gone Wild was the first Valentine's Day weekend event for Hospice and after the success of this year's event will become an annual occasion.
"We're definitely going to be doing it again next year," said Lehbauer. "People though it was just fantastic. It was so much fun. The chocolate fountain and all the desserts were just great. It was great partnering with Chances Gaming Centre as well. They were really good about helping us out and making sure everything was all set."
All the money raised by Hearts Gone Wild will stay in the Castlegar area to help the Castlegar Hospice Society provide all the services and support they offer to community, said Lehbauer.
