Pizza lovers help food bank

If chowing down on pizza is your forté, that skill could benefit Nanaimo’s Loaves and Fishes Community Food Bank.
La Cuisana Roma is hosting a pizza eating contest Saturday (Feb. 9) at 4 p.m. in Woodgrove Centre’s food court.
Contestants will be challenged to eat as many eight-inch pizzas as possible in 2.5 minutes
The grand prize winner will receive one free eight-inch pizza every week for a year.
All proceeds from the $20 registration fee go to Loaves and Fishes.
Participants and onlookers are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank.
