Gingerbread event raises $12,000 for Boys and Girls clubs

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Vancouver Island are proud to announce that this year’s Odlum Brown Gingerbread Village with Bears was an amazing success.

The event raised over $12,000, which directly supports the club's programs in the Comox Valley.

This year’s event that was held at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community was the largest so far with over 90 displays of gingerbread creations and delightfully outfitted bears.

Local merchants, companies, organizations, schools and residents all came together to create a memorable event. In addition, support from the local schools, senior centers and general public was fantastic.

The staff of the Boys and Girls Club would like to thank the following for their more than generous support, time, advice and contributions:

Odlum Brown, Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community, Planet Kids, All in One Party Shop, Slegg Lumber, the catering staff at Crown Isle, volunteers and staff at the Comox Valley Boys and Girls Club, community volunteers and Andrea Spitz.

Last, but definitely not least, the club thanks the participants and successful bidders.

For further information on programs or coming events, phone the Comox Valley club at 250-338-7582 or e-mail comoxvalley@bgccvi.com.
