Kal Tire backs VJH fundraiser

Two North Okanagan businesses are getting behind efforts to enhance health care.

Kal Tire will be the title sponsor for the fourth annual Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation Charity Golf Classic May 26 and Predator Ridge is the venue sponsor.

“Kal Tire has been a long-time generous supporter of Vernon Jubilee Hospital and our Charity Classic,” said Cliff Oughtred, organizing committee chairperson.

Robert Foord, Kal Tire president, says one of the company’s goals is to be active in the community.

“It is important that people of the North Okanagan have access to superior health care facilities and we look forward to participating in a successful 2013 Charity Classic,” he said.

Predator Ridge, through its members and homeowners, has donated the course for the event.

“An exciting one-day event is being planned,” said Oughtred.

“The new format includes a hot buffet breakfast, morning shot-gun start, a Vegas scramble, lots of fun on the course and an amazing $10,000 prize table, all followed by a gourmet dinner.”

“We hope like the three years past, it will once again be a sell-out event.”

All of the funds raised will support the ongoing need for new medical equipment at VJH.

During three years, more than $460,000 has been raised by the Classic.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and registration for teams is now taking place.  For more information, call  250-558-1362.
