Season ends for Christmas Bureau
The holiday hampers have been given out and volunteers at the Christmas Bureau are now taking down the tinsel and lights and packing up the office for the season.
The group put together more than 700 hampers to help local families enjoy the holiday season.
“We are extremely thankful for all the generosity people and groups have shown,” said coordinator, Phil Hope, noting donations were still arriving on Christmas Eve. Donation drives, such as the Christmas at the Clarke and Fireman’s Ride successfully brought in much needed food and money.
While the holiday bureau is closed for the season, Mission Community Services’ food centre remains open the rest of the year, and “we continue to need food and financial donations,” said Hope. The food centre is open five days a week and is located at 32646 Logan Ave.
