Federal funds help Black Creek Community Centre

Federal funding of $17,095 will help to pay for improvements to the Black Creek Community Centre.

Project activities will include upgrades to the washrooms, main hall and kitchen; the installation of disability access mechanisms for main doors; and the replacement of ceiling panels. The community centre is used by all community members for a variety of purposes including meetings, administration, and gatherings.

“The Black Creek Community Centre (BCCA) has been an integral part of our rural community for well over 50 years,” said facilities director Jerry Griffin. “As a non-profit, the BCCA has a strong

foundation of volunteers and is truly ‘owned’ and driven by its members. Funding will help ensure the facilities are safe, welcoming and up-to-date; and reflect the pride and appreciation Black Creek residents have in their community centre.”

MP John Duncan made the announcement on behalf of Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, under the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.
