Book supports kids with autism spectrum disorder
Proceeds from a book written by an Abbotsford woman will help support children with autism spectrum disorder.
Jodi Tucker, CEO of Kids Matter Inc., has authored the book “Abigail,” the first in a series of stories about a Volkswagen Beetle trying to find her place in the world. Illustrations are by Johnnie Balfour.
Tucker is an advocate for people with disabilities, and she often receives requests from families looking for support but who have no access to funding.
Profits from the book will help fund scholarships for children who otherwise cannot access programs.
All the situations that Abigail finds herself in are directly inspired from many of Tucker’s case studies. In addition, she said the book is a teaching tool to provide a bridge for discussion with children and the situations they may find themselves in.
