Comox Valley Record - Community Papers

Computer store helps Comox Valley Food Bank.

A local computer store is helping the Comox Valley Food Bank.

“We were thinking of a way to help out in the community and we haven’t helped the food bank before,” says Andre Tewinkel, owner of ACS Computer Solutions. “The food bank usually needs more help in the new year just after the holiday season is over, so we thought we would raise money in December and donate it in January.”

For the first 1,000 local people that sign up for the ACS newsletter, ACS Computer Solutions will donate $1 each. For the second 1,000, 50 cents each, the third 1,000, 25 cents each and so on.

“Our goal is to raise $2,000 by the end of December,” says Andre.

This shouldn’t be too hard seeing there are over 65,000 people in the Valley. The newsletter normally contains computer tips and tricks, specials and a computer-related joke.

To sign up, you can go to www.facebook.com/acscomputersolutions or www.acscomputersolutions.com and click on “newsletter signup” or “join mailing list.” If you need help signing up, you can also sign up at ACS Computer Solutions at 2663 Kilpatrick Ave. in Courtenay.
