Filling the food bank one can at a time
Mary Hill elementary school students in Port Coquitlam know how to run a marketing program.
The leadership students and their sponsor teacher, Jenny Kim, collected more than 1,000 items for the Share Family and Community Services Christmas hampers in 10 days, helping the social service agency fill all 1,800 holiday hampers for the needy this year.
The students offered free movies at lunch for the donors, among other incentives.
Theirs was one of more than 30 food drives that took place in Couitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody and Anmore schools this holiday season.
