GLORY AND PEACE
Sevenoaks Alliance Church (2575 Gladwin Rd.) presents “Glory and Peace” on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. The event features Trevor Dick and Band from Guelph, Ont.; a multi-media presentation; a live artist; and interpretive dance all focused on the message of Christmas. Tickets are $15 and are available at the church or House of James.
The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Abbotsford invites all women to its annual “Christmas Do” on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at a member’s private residence. Guest speaker will be Dorothy Hennefeld, executive director of the Women’s Resource Society of the Fraser Valley. Doors open at 6 p.m. The cost is $20 per person, and anyone wanting to participate in the gift exchange should bring a $15 wrapped gift. The Abbotsford Social Activity Association holds dances with live music every Friday throughout the year at its hall at 33889 Essendene Ave. Good Vibrations plays Friday, Dec. 7. The Christmas dinner and dance is the following week (Dec. 14), and there are no dances on Dec. 21 or 28. Tickets for Dec. 14 are $25 and must be purchased immediately by calling Jodie at 604-850-2465. Dinner is served at 6 p.m. and music is by Sweetwater. Tickets are also available for the New Year’s Eve dinner and dance.
FISH AND CHIPS
The ladies auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion (2513 West Railway St.) in Abbotsford holds a Fish and Chips Night on Friday, Dec. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. with Music by Syd. SCHOOL CRAFT FAIR
Thomas Swift elementary (34800 Mierau St.) holds its 16th annual Christmas Craft Fair on Friday, Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and includes 20 vendors, a raffle, a bake sale and a cake walk. Proceeds go to the school’s playground fund.
Pet photos with Santa take place on Saturday, Dec. 8 to benefit Elizabeth’s Wildlife Centre. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Homestead Nurseryland, 31888 Marshall Rd. The cost is a minimum $5 donation.
AUTISM SOCIETY EVENT
