Donations of blood, food sought for Bleed and Feed campaign

Canadian Blood Services is holding two "Bleed and Feed" events in Burnaby to fill blood and food banks in B.C. and Yukon.

In partnership with Food Banks BC, organizers are aiming for more than 14,000 blood donations and contributions of non-perishable food items between Dec. 1 and Jan. 2 .

Burnaby clinics are Thursday, Dec. 6, 1 to 8 p.m. at the Nikkei Centre, 6688 Southoaks Crescent and Thursday, Dec. 20, 1 to 8 p.m. at Bill Copeland Sports Centre, 3676 Kensington Avenue.

People can book a donation appointment at blood.ca or 1-888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283). Food donations will be collected Dec. 1 to 31 in specially marked Bleed & Feed food collection boxes located in the front waiting area of the blood donor clinics. Food collected in Burnaby will be donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.
