West Bench Elementary parent Tammy Semple serves a special lunch Friday to Grade 3 student Ben McLeod. The school was celebrating the opening of its new kitchen, which was made possible with a $1,500 grant from the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan. The new kitchen will be used for the daily breakfast program and for hot lunches every Friday, which were previously prepared in parents’ homes and then taken to the school.
