Focus on diabetes

Children living with type 1 diabetes from all across Canada will descend on Ottawa today (Nov. 27) for JDRF’s Kids for a Cure Day.
They will meet with parliamentarians, create awareness around T1D, talk about some of the challenges they face on a daily basis, and highlight how T1D research and innovation has improved their lives.
Among that group of 40 children will be Nicholas and Cameron Steed, from Kelowna. The brothers were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the young ages of 17 months and 22 months respectively. They have experienced first-hand the daily struggles of living with this devastating disease and are eager to do what they can to help raise awareness and funds for JDRF so that a cure can be found.
