Love for Lilee Pageant raises funds for family

A charity pageant is being held in Abbotsford on Saturday, Nov. 24 for a young girl battling a rare form of brain cancer.

The Divas and Diamonds Love for Lilee Charity Pageant raises funds for Lilee-Jean Putt of Chilliwack and her parents Andrew Putt and Chelsey Whittle. The girl, almost two years old, was diagnosed with glioblastoma – an aggressive brain cancer – at the age of 10 months.

Lilee-Jean has undergone 12 rounds of chemotherapy treatment to help shrink her tumor, and cannot receive radiation therapy until she is three years old.

The pageant is open to boys and girls of all ages. The entry fee is $35.

Girls entered can sell votes for $1 each, and the participant with the most votes receives the People’s Choice Award.

In keeping with the event’s Disney theme, “Belle” from Beauty and the Beast will visit.

The event begins at noon at Garden Park Tower, 2285 Clearbrook Rd.
