Girls Day features two workshops

The Fraser Valley Community Action Team (FVCAT) will hold a “Girls Day” event on Wednesday, Nov. 21 with two interactive workshops.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  For location and other details, call the Abbotsford Youth Commission at 604-854-8785.

One of the workshops is titled Taking Care of Ourselves, Taking Care of Others and is about preventing sexual exploitation.

The other session is SafeTeen, a program that teaches assertiveness to youths.

In addition to the two presentations, organizations that engage youth in the community will be on hand to share the programs and activities they offer.

FVCAT is a committee of youth service providers that focuses on the prevention of sexual exploitation.
