A free Movember skate for you!

A free Movember Skate will be held on Sunday, Nov. 18, at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.

The skate, sponsored by Tim Hortons, TRU WolfPack, Kamloops Storm and the City of Kamloops, will take place from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those wearing their best moustaches can enter to win prizes.

Movember is an event during November in which men grow moustaches to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer initiatives.

Face-painting moustaches will also be available for those would like to have a moustache for the event and $2 donations will be accepted in support of prostate-cancer research and male mental-health programs.

At the event, the City of Kamloops will be promoting its Be Smart and Wear a Helmet campaign for public skating. At random times throughout the fall and winter seasons, skaters wearing helmets will be rewarded with a free skate pass.
