Women's issues critic to speak to BPW

MLA Sue Hammell will be the special guest speaker at the Nov. 14 Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW) of Abbotsford luncheon.

The event takes place at Cascade Community Church and the topic of Hammell’s presentation is “Political Glass Ceiling.”

Hammell is the MLA for Surrey-Green Timbers and serves as opposition critic for Women’s Issues, Child Care and Early Learning. She is also Deputy House Leader.

She is a founding member of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, initiated in 1999 to provide funds for projects that will assist women to realize their potential and to create a safe place for them to live and work in B.C.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $15 for BPW members and $20 for guests. RSVP is necessary by Friday, Nov. 9, at bpwabbotsford@gmail.com.

Cascade Community Church is located at 35190 Delair Road in Abbotsford.
