MCC thrift shop celebrates 10 years

There’s excitement brewing at the MCC Mission Thrift Shop as staff and volunteers celebrate 10 years of giving: Giving people a place to bring their used items and keeping them out of a landfill. Giving people an opportunity to volunteer. Giving hope to people around the globe because each purchase made at an MCC Thrift Shop supports the relief, development and peace work of the Mennonite Central Committee in over 50 countries. That’s a lot to celebrate.
“I hope that new people will come in the shop and find out what we’re all about,” says Catherine Ireland, one of the shop managers, adding that the best part of her job is working with an ”amazing” group of volunteers.
The MCC Mission Thrift Shop is one of nine thrift shops in BC. The Mission store first opened in 1999.
The MCC Mission Thrift Shop is located on the bus route at 32608 Fraser Cres. Everyone is welcome to visit the shop which is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about MCC call 604-826-1515.
