A Vernon resident is part of the decision-makers for optometrists provincially.

Dr. Amanda Farley was elected as a director of the B.C. Association of Optometrists during its recent annual conference in Vancouver.

Farley was raised in Abbotsford and relocated to Vernon last year.

She graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2010, obtaining her doctorate of optometry.

She has worked on the B.C. Association of Optometrists’ campaign to educate the public on the importance of regular eye exams, and spear-headed the association’s mentorship program, providing guidance and resources to students and new graduates.
