Rural residents around Rossland will have a chance to have their say on the upcoming regional district budget.

The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary invites all Area B residents, taxpayers and interested individuals to a town hall meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 19 (6:30 p.m.) at Oasis Community Hall in Oasis to learn about how the regional district operates in general, and to listen to information regarding the 2014 budget and the 2014-2018 Five-Year Financial Plan.

RDKB staff will provide information regarding the legislative framework that regional districts must abide by, what overall regional services and what specific electoral area services are provided and how much taxpayers pay.

Information respecting how levels of taxation are determined will be presented.

This will be an opportunity to comment on the 2014 budget for Area B residents, and an opportunity to let director Linda Worley know your views and what kind of local government services you want.
