Bowker joined the South Delta Leader team in 2007, where she quickly increased revenues while maintaining a high standard of editorial content. The South Delta Leader was named the second best publication in its circulation category in North America in 2010.

In the six years she spent as publisher of the South Delta Leader, Bowker made an impact on her community through a number of work and volunteer assignments. Her most notable accomplishment was the launch of Project Bloom in support of International Women’s Day.

Bowker also helped other non-profit community groups and associations with their fundraising and awareness campaigns, including the Delta Hospital Foundation, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, Reach Child Development, and a number of other charitable organizations.
