Project Bloom set for March 8
The South Delta Leader’s annual Project Bloom event in support of International Women’s Day will be donating funds raised from this year’s event to the Delta Hospital Foundation Women’s Fund.
The fifth annual Project Bloom event will be held at the Coast Tsawwassen Inn, on Friday, March 8, and hosted by Chrissie Bowker, publisher of the South Delta Leader.
Sarah Daniels, star of HGTV’s Urban Suburban and former Global BC TV reporter, is set to emcee the event this year, which is expected to attract close to 150 local business women.
Speaking at the event will Samantha Reynolds, founder of Echo Memoirs. Reynolds and her team of writers, graphic designers, and bookbinders have created more than 250 visually stunning coffee-table books filled with the engaging stories and photographs that celebrate people’s lives and business histories.
In 2005, Samantha was named to the “Top 40 Under 40,” an award given out to B.C.’s top business achievers under the age of 40.
Also speaking at the event will be Katrina Pacey, Director of Litigation at Pivot Legal Society, where she brings legal strategy to Pivot’s campaigns and connects the agency with the broader legal community.
To help the South Delta Leader raise funds on International Women’s Day, Boutique Blanche has donated beautiful scarves which we’ll be selling at the event along with some other creative ways of bringing in the funds needed to support our local Women’s Fund at Delta Hospital.
The Delta Hospital Women’s Fund provides valuable diagnostic and therapeutic treatment for women in Delta with certain reproductive illnesses. These procedures are extremely valuable when it comes to screening patients for uterine cancer, treating them for anemia or assisting to diagnosis for repeated miscarriages or infertility.
