Troy Abromaitis is a well-rounded corporate citizen.

The former Richmond Review carrier taught English in China upon graduating from high school, but once he came back to this continent, he quickly rose up the ranks of the home builidng and real estate industry.

For the past seven years he’s been working with the Wallmark Group of Companies, where he was promoted from the president’s assistant through to development manager and has found a place on the senior management team. He oversees residential development projects including land acquisitions, rezoning, conceptual design, planning, unit design, approval processes, managing of consultants and liaison with government authorities to ensure a successful completion of these projects.

He’s continued to advanced his education while working in the industry. He graduated with honors from both the University of B.C. and the British Columbia Institute of Technologies’ School of Business. He’s also completed the real estate sales, property management and managing brokers licensing qualifications. Abromaitis has volunteered for the Greater Vancouver Home Builder’s Association and the Real Estate Institute of B.C. and is also fundraises for several causes.

Inspiration? “My parents are my greatest inspiration. They have always worked hard all their lives and the love, compassion and work-ethic they taught me is unequaled.”

Most proud of? “I am most proud of being selected as a Top 40 under 40 by Professional Builder Magazine. I was the only Canadian selected last year and I was also the youngest. Being selected for Richmond Review’s Top 30 under 30 is a close second.”

Advice? “Do not be afraid to take that first step and create opportunities for yourself rather than waiting for opportunities to present themselves. Always set your expectations high and learn from your mistakes. Also, strive to be the best at anything you do and you will achieve greatness and fulfillment.”

What motivates you to volunteer? “My brother Jason. He is serving the Canadian Forces and he has made the ultimate commitment to protect Canada. I have always been a strong supporter of fundraising, volunteering and giving back to the community.
