Downtown BIA teams with Fortis
Sweaters and hot coffee will be out in full force for members of the Downtown New Westminster Business Improvement Association during FortisBC's Turn Down the Heat Week, Feb. 2-9.
The inaugural event is a collaboration of the natural gas company and 20 BIAs in the province to promote energy conservation.
Some participating businesses will be offering sales on warm clothing or hot drinks while others will be collecting clothing donations for local social services. The businesses will also be encouraging their customers and clients to turn down the thermostat and wear warmer clothing to work.
