Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce gets new CEO
The Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce has a new president and CEO — Evelyn Clark.
“I am very excited to join the Chamber during this time of transition,” said Clark. “I am passionate about community engagement and strategic planning.”
Clark has worked in community economic development and the non-profit sector on Vancouver Island for years. Most recently, she helped establish Venture Connect, a social enterprise company governed by six Community Futures organizations that prepares small businesses for sale so they can be transferred to a new owner — keeping businesses open and operating in rural communities.
Prior to that, Clark was the senior project manager for the Rural Economic Diversification Initiative, a province-wide project that helped diversify rural communities through innovative projects.
She said her mission this year is to established strong working relationships with members and community stakeholders and the chamber will focus on increasing membership and the chamber’s success and future sustainability.
The Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce has close to 300 members and says it is “The Voice of Business.” For more information visit: www.qualicum.bc.ca.
