Canadian Rockies International Airport wins coveted award
The British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC) today announced the winners of the Aviation Awards for 2012. The awards will be presented at the October 25 Silver Wings Awards gala at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) South Terminal along with $10,000 in scholarships to deserving students in the fields of flying, engineering and aviation management in programs from all over British Columbia.
The Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook has won the William Templeton Award for aviation market development, community outreach and environmental initiatives.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Conair Aviation, The Back and Bevington Air Safety Award went to Victoria Harbour Master and Air Carrier Operators Team, the BCAC Environmental Award went to the Vancouver Airport Authority and Lynne Denison-Foster took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Silver Wings Awards take place on October 25, 2012 at the YVR South Terminal in Vancouver.
The British Columbia Aviation Council was established in 1938 and is a charitable society incorporated under the B.C. Society Act. The Council represents the interests of the aviation industry in British Columbia and has 160 individual and corporate members.
