The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce welcomed three new members to its board of directors at a luncheon Wednesday.

Melody Kindret of the Revelstoke Credit Union, Emma Kirkland of Powder Springs Hotel, and Brydon Roe of Revelstoke Alpine Properties were all acclaimed to two-year seats on the board of directors. Additionally, Meghann Hutton, notary public, was re-acclaimed as a member of the board. She has served on the board for the past year but her seat was up for election.

The four had their names put forward by a nomination committee. They were all approved by acclimation as no one else was nominated.

The new members represent a mix of life-long residents (Kindret) and relative new-comers to town (Kirkland).

The chamber's executive director John Devitt welcomed them to the board.

The four new board members will join president Deenie Ottenbreit of Chantilly Kitchen, Bed & Bath; vice-president Don Teuton of Inn on the River; Poppi Reiner of Poppi's Private Room Hostel; and Steve Baily of Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Two board seats remain available and will be appointed by the chamber's board of directors.

The luncheon also featured two guest speakers. Jill Zacharias, Revelstoke's social development coordinator, gave a presentation to the chamber about the importance of age-friendly business, particularly as the population is aging. Gary McLaughlin of the Revelstoke Hockeyville bid committee addressed the chamber to discuss the Hockeyville committee's need and gain the support of its members.
