Police are on the lookout for bike-riding bandit who attempted to rob the H & R Block outlet on Third Avenue, Staff Sgt. Lee Omilusik said.
On Thursday Oct. 29, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a 5'10" skinny male wearing dark pants entered the H & R Block Office on Third Ave. and pulled a dark toque over his face.
An employee who was at the rear of the store confronted the suspect, who tried unsuccessfully to open the cash register. The suspect sprayed the employee with what is thought to be bear spray, then fled northbound on Third Avenue on a grey or black bicycle that was parked outside.
Drivers who were at a traffic light nearby may have saw the suspect make his getaway, and are asked to contact police or Crimstoppers at 250-724-8920 or 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
