The Chargers travelled to Penticton this past weekend where they dominated the Cougars 37-0.

Despite the score, the Cougars were an improved and healthier team compared to what the Chargers faced two weeks ago. The Cougars said they used those two weeks to study the Chargers’ unique offence to find ways to stop it.

The Chargers offence did struggle at times to move the ball forward consistently. Much of that was due to a constant rain of penalty flags and only being able to field 20 players.

Defensively, the Chargers were able to prevent any Penticton scoring which included a couple of goal line stands.

Player of the game was Joel Feenstra who combined a strong defensive performance with his typical, very consistent kicking.

The Chargers play their final regular season game next weekend in Vernon.

Jr. Broncos

An injury-riddled Mission Bruins football team came away on the losing side Sunday, when they travelled to Salmon Arm. The Broncos  won 30-0 after the Bruins forfeited due to too many players being sick or injured.

The Broncos’ defence had another strong game and fifth shut out of the season. Led by player of the game, Cody Janzen, the Broncos limited the Bruins to a handful of first downs and frustrated a strong passing game. Notable defensive performances also came from Ethan Greenlaw, Clark Bibby,  Nick Stauber and Bryce Hicks.

The Broncos’ offence, led by quarterback Keegan Christian, started fast and strong and never looked back.  Dakota Dinwoodie, Sam Wong and Grant Shishido also had strong offensive performances. The offensive player of the game was Tyler Potter, who led all receivers with two catches for 60 yards.

The Broncos final game of the regular season is in Kamloops this Sunday against the Westside Wildcats.

PeeWee Colts

The Salmon Arm Colts hosted the Kamloops Pee Wee Broncos. It was a strong showing for both teams but Salmon Arm had the edge, keeping possession for most of the game due to good offensive drives and strong defensive holds.

The game ended with a Salmon Arm touchdown and a score of 32-6.
