Ferster bench boss for Team Canada West

Salmon Arm SilverBacks General Manager Rylan Ferster could not be much farther away from Salmon Arm these days. 

Ferster is in Summerside, PEI as head coach of Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge. 

The tournament began Nov. 1 and runs through to Nov. 8. 

The six teams competing in the tournament include Russia, Belarus, Canada East, Sweden, United States and Canada West. 

Eleven players from the BCHL are on the Team Canada West roster including the Jones brothers from the Vernon Vipers. 

Team Canada West fell 2-1 to Russia on Sunday, Nov. 1, their first game of the tournament.

They resumed play on Tuesday, Nov. 3 when they faced Team Sweden.
