Memories go missing

My husband and I were travelling with our three children through the community of Salmon Arm at the end of our vacation.
We stayed at a hotel and early on Monday, Sept. 7, we heard our car alarm go off.
The back passenger window had been shattered and two bags were stolen, including personal items that can never be replaced, but have no value for anyone other than our family.
The items most upsetting for us to lose were a JVC video recorder with family videos on the hard drive, two family photographs, several of our kids’ school workbooks, three travel journals, an historical book of Women in Lethbridge, a French poetry book (Limites) and our only address book.
The bags also contained numerous photocopies and receipts and several other electronic items which we are sure have been pawned by now.
We would be forever grateful if people in the community could check areas to see if any of these items may be recovered.
Personally we spent several hours looking in the neighborhood to hopefully retrieve any items, but to no avail.
We travel often through your community and have thought of Salmon Arm as a pleasant and caring area, but we are very sad with our experience this time.
The bags were: a black shoulder bag stuffed with papers and a grey backpack with lime green stripes.
Please drop anything off at the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment.
