Comedy term offensive

Human rights: Not OK to discriminate re income.
I am responding to the offensive advertisement aired on radio about a “trailer trash” theme night at a local pub on June 27.
For those of you who are probably thinking, ‘Oh lighten up, everyone knows it’s all just in fun,’ well think again. Let me remind you that referring to those of so-called lower economic status as “trailer trash” (at least that is how Wikipedia defines it, i.e. “A derogatory North American English term for people of low socio-economic standing,” is offensive for many people who are struggling to make ends meet (as it is for those who choose to live in mobile homes). This is clear discrimination in my eyes, and does not support the B.C. Human Rights Code which states that: (1) A person must not publish, issue or display, or cause to be published, issued or displayed, any statement, publication, notice, sign, symbol, emblem or other representation that (a) indicates discrimination or an intention to discriminate against a person or a group or class of persons…
According to the radio, which said that the adverstisement was not in breech of any discriminatory laws, I would ask then, which human rights code is being followed?
