For anyone who has ever sung along with Johny Cash and the chorus to Walk the Line, shed a tear while listening to the late, great Roy Orbison sing Crying, or melted to the music of Garth Brooks, the cowboy-hatted country superstar who displaced Elvis Presley as the top-selling solo artist in U.S. history, here’s a chance to hear your favourites from all three stellar performers.
Relive special musical moments and memories when tribute singers bring the spirit of Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and Garth Brooks to the Salmar Classic Theatre at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7.
The Men in Black Tour will feature songs, musical memories and stories about the life and times of these legendary singers, songwriters, recording artists and prolific hit-makers.
Daryl Weyman, as Johnny Cash, is considered the best Cash impersonator on the music scene. Not only has he opened in Nashville for the likes of Carlene Carter, the granddaughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, he has also toured extensively in Canada, the United States, as well as, headlining in Las Vegas.
The voice, sound and swagger of ‘D.R.’ Weyman are billed as the closest thing on stage there is to the original Man in Black.
Troy Gibson has been entertaining audiences for the past 12 years with his tribute to Roy Orbison. Since leaving England and moving to Canada, Gibson has been amazing audiences with his Remembering Roy tribute act.
Steve Hillis, as Garth Brooks also comes with impressive credentials that include an extensive tour with the world renowned Legend in Concert, based in Las Vegas.
Even if all you have is Friends In Low Places you can still enjoy the show. And, for those who never got to see the real Man in Black on tour, or listen to the ‘Big O’ in person, and, who have yet to see Garth Brooks live on stage in Nashville, here’s a chance at the next best thing – Daryl Weyman as Johnny Cash, Troy Gibson as Roy Orbison and Steve Hillis as Garth Brooks on stage, right here in Salmon Arm.
The Men In Black Tour will offer all the big hits by the three stellar performers, including several of Brooks’ high-octane blend of country music.
There will even be a song or two from The Travelling Willburys, promises Gibson.
Tickets for the Men In Black Tour are available at Acorn Music and the Salmar Grand Theatre. For further information, call 250 832-2263.
