Shuswap Theatre presents Finding the Essence of a Character, a workshop with professional actor Danielle Dunn-Morris Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dunn-Morris is an accomplished actress who has been involved with all aspects of theatre and film most of her life. Performing on stage and directing has always been her first love.
Dunn-Morris was a very active member of Shuswap Theatre during the ’80s and ’90s. In 2006, she directed Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun in Salmon Arm.
The fee for this one-day workshop is $30 and space is limited.
To register, call James Bowlby at 250-832-8383 or 250-833-5134.
Plans for the theatre’s Sept. 19 open house are well underway.
“This is the annual social and informational event that gives the community an opportunity to find out what’s happening in the upcoming season and to learn more about what we do at Shuswap Theatre,” says publicity director Monica Kriese.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and will include food and entertainment.
Shuswap Theatre is again sponsoring the Youth Theatre Program. The first session is Sept. 10 at 3:30 p.m. at the theatre.
The program combines theatre games, acting lessons and a production. Sessions run Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. If you have some acting/directing or youth education experience, please consider helping co-ordinator James Bowlby. Call him at the above-mentioned numbers.
The deadline to purchase season’s tickets is Saturday, Sept. 19. Enjoy three Mainstage plays for just $39, with your seat guaranteed.
Contact Karen Sansom at 250-832-4413, or e-mail kgsansom@telus.net.
