If you’d like to have input into how Salmon Arm grows, now’s your chance.

The City of Salmon Arm is now in the process of reviewing and updating its official community plan (OCP) that was adopted in 2002. An OCP is a visionary guide to the future growth of a community. A community workshop is set for Tuesday, Sept. 15, 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Gathering Place, 350-30th St. SE.

City staff would appreciate an RSVP as meeting space is limited; contact the development services department by Monday, Sept. 14 at 250-803-4021.

As well as the community workshop, a community survey will be carried out Sept. 10 to Oct. 16. Residents can access it online at www.salmonarm.ca, or pick up a hard copy at: city hall, the public library at Piccadilly Mall, SASCU Recreation Centre and the Senior’s Resource Centre.

The OCP review is providing the city with an opportunity to update its objectives and policies that guide land use, development and planning strategies. A Greenways Strategy is also underway to plan for the acquisition and construction of trails.

The city is encouraging public involvement and will be launching more opportunities for input this year and next.

For more information, contact Corey Paiement, director of development services, at 250-803-4015.
