Small business bouncing back
B.C. small business confidence has taken another step upward, and signs of BC’s economic recovery become clearer.
At the national level, CFIB’s Business Barometer Index rose to 68.7 in September, a 3.3-point rise over its August level.
Confidence is now at its highest level since the first quarter of 2007.
For the first time since the recession began a year ago, improving business sentiment has been supported by stronger capital investment.
Driving the recovery nationally seems to be the big improvement in optimism among manufacturing business owners.
In addition, consumers appear to be joining in as well, pushing up optimism in the retail and personal services sectors.
