The Merritt Herald is the award-winning community newspaper serving Merritt and the Nicola Valley since 1905. As the newspaper of record, the Herald takes pride in its role and strives to serve its community better in all aspects. Every Wednesday the Herald presents all the news from the Merritt and Nicola Valley, including news, community events, and sports. In 2001 we were proud to bring home to our readers and our community the top honors in the Canadian Community Newspaper Association's annual newspapers competition as best newspaper in the country in its circulation class for the second straight year, and have been nominated for this prestigious award for the third year in a row.
