HEAT-SEEKING HELL RIDE

World Professional Bullriding action is coming to Kamloops and Salmon Arm later this month, with notorious bull Heat Seeker expected to provide excitement at the Salmon Arm stop. Heat Seeker is a five-year-old brahman-cross bucking bull. Event promoter and international bullfighter Matt Darmody lives on the ranch that houses Heat Seeker and has seen the worst of the bull first-hand when he was pinned while taking the bull away from bullrider Chad Eneas, who was hospitalized after being stepped on by the animal. “He has really come into his own in the past 12 months,” Darmody said. “He is the leader in the bullpen, the boss of the A-pen bucking machines.” Heat Seeker has been out 12 times this summer, but has only been ridden once for 87 points. He has, however, sent two bullriders and two bullfighters to hospital. Tickets for the bullriding action — which is scheduled to be in Kamloops on Sept. 18 and in Salmon Arm on Sept. 19 — can be purchased at The Horse Barn on Mount Paul Way.
