Canada’s finest downhill and cross country mountain bikers will pedal up Tod Mountain Road in time for the Canada Cup and B.C. Cup Championships this weekend at Sun Peaks.
The Canadian Cycling Association and Sun Peaks are hosting the Canada Cup downhill finals, the B.C. Cup downhill finals and the B.C. cross-country finals.
More than 500 of Canada’s best mountain bikers will be strutting their stuff on world-class trails.
Cross-country riders will face grueling climbs and descents that require extreme technical skill to navigate.
The downhill course features flowing machine-made berms, a loamy, root-filled single-track and loose, dusty sections of trail.
It won’t only be the professionals enjoying the trails this weekend, however, as a Citizen Class category will be available for riders 13 years of age and older who wish to participate.
The cross-country action begins at 10 a.m on Saturday; the downhill competition gets underway at 12:30 p.m on Sunday.
Anyone interested in volunteering for course-setup or course marshalling duties can contact Sun Peaks’ special events department at 250-319-7975.
