The Kamloops Tsunami Swim Club competed at the Merritt Otters Invitational Swim Meet on the weekend, with two Kamloops swimmers getting their first taste of competition.

Sara Bonderud and Alexia Stone both participated in all six events.

In addition, Jared Calder won the gold aggregate in division 8 boys.

The club’s next meet is the Okanagan Regional Championships at the outdoor Brock Pool on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9.

Top swimmers from that meet will represent the Okanagan Region at the BC Swimming Championships, which will be held in Abbotsford from Aug. 21 to Aug. 23.
