Kamloops quartet tames triathlon

Four Kamloops athletes were among 249 competitors in the 2009 Investors Group Peach Classic Triathlon, held Sunday, July 19 in Penticton.

The event featured a 1,500-metre swim, a 40-kilometre bike ride and a 10-kilometre run.

Rob MacCollum finished 113th overall and was 18th out of 27 in his age group (men 35-39) with a time of 2:51:10 .

Wade Sellars was 162nd place overall and 21st out of 27 in his age group (men 35-39) with a time of 3:03:25.

Karen Smith was 180th overall and 13th out of 20 in her age group (women 40-44) with a time of 3:07:59.

Lorna Williams was 235th overall and 20th out of 20 in her age group (women 40-44) with a time of 3:37:41.
