Platinum wins soccer title

The Platinum Realty Rangers defeated East Side Marios in the championship final of the Kamloops Rec Soccer League, 2-0. 

Platinum goals came from Dan Booker and Luis McCabe.

Rob Geiger was in goal for the shutout.

Luis McCabe was awarded the Rick Salituro Memorial Award as the playoff MVP.

Platinum opened the weekend with a 3-2 victory over Jays Service.

The Platinum Realty goals were scored by Sean Wallace, Dave Spendlove and Steve Bucher. The Jays countered with goals from Mark McKenzie and Kent Bojda.

Platinum followed that up with a 4-1 victory over the regular season champions, Jensen Law.

Platinum got two goals from Zoran Boskovic and singles from Sean Wallace and Steve Bucher.

Down 1-0 at halftime, Platinum was led by strong goaltending from Dan Maloney enroute to scoring four unanswered goals in the second half.

Jensen Law’s goal came from Ryan Gentile.

In other playoff action, Outland Roofing defeated The Media Team 2-1 to win the B consolation final.

Jensen Law defeated Piva Financial 4-1 to win the A consolation.

Peewee Blazers win two

Kamloops Peewee AAA started Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey League play with two wins last the weekend.

On Saturday they travelled to the Okanagan where they were successful in a 9-4 win over Penticton.

Austin Piquette collected the win in goal.

On Sunday they faced Vernon on home turf where they defeated Vernon 14-1.

Liam McLeod was the winning goalie.

The team travels to Abbotsford for the Thanksgiving weekend Abbotsford Peewee AAA Invitational tournament.

Tier 3 drops close game

The peewee Tier 3 North Kamloops Lions dropped a 5-4 decision to the Winfield Bruins in Winfield.

Brandon Fuhrer and Blake Rose shared duties in net for the Lions.

JJ Hanemaayer (one goal), Nick Fidanza (one asissit), Cole Hooper (one goal and one assist), Austin Pietramala (two goals and one assist) factored in the scoring.

Blazers burn Salmon Arm

The Peewee B Blazers defeated Salmon Arm 17-3.

Darion Nordick led the way with two goals and five assists.

Kaleb Priestlay and Kolby Pauwels shared goaltending duties.
