Has Blair digested a bunch of sour grapes?

Re: Joyce Blair’s letter of Nov. 21 (‘Is Walsh displaying political sign of hypocrisy?’):
It sounds as though Blair is feeling some bitterness about not being an elected council member, as indicated by her rather harsh attack again newly elected councillor Denis Walsh.
It is abundantly clear to me, as a longtime acquaintance of Walsh, that he is a person of great integrity who genuinely cares about our community.
The fact he needed to follow the status quo and use signs to help himself get elected does not make him a hypocrite when he makes it known he disagrees with all the signage during campaigns.
To me, this suggests Walsh is a progressive thinker, one who seeks solutions to his concerns — not for himself, but for our community and our environment.
Blair’s suggestion that we can be sure to expect many “Denis contradictions” reflects her distorted perspective — first in her over-generalization that one example of anything ensures it will be that way for always; second in assuming her conclusion about Walsh’s “hypocrisy” is something we all share.
What I think is most obvious is just how resentful Blair is toward the people of Kamloops for not electing her.
As a result, she is displacing that anger on someone we did elect.
I hope Blair can stop this kind of unproductive behaviour, and do something useful for this city in her extra time.
