Re: Russ Ford’s response to KTW’s question of what it means to be Canadian (‘Being Canadian,’ July 1):

Ford doesn’t feel like his rights are being protected very much?

Maybe he should try living in Iran or Zimbabwe.

Ford thinks everything is out of control.

Maybe he should try living in Iraq and see what out of control really is like.

Ford thinks housing prices are out of control?

Maybe he should try living in China, where many generations are living in 400 square feet of space.

Ford thinks gas prices are out of control?

Maybe he should try living in Europe.

Ford thinks we have no say?

Does he vote?

Maybe he should talk to a veteran who fought for our freedoms, including freedom of speech.

On Canada Day and all other days, we should be so grateful and thankful for everything we have.

I cannot begin to describe how grateful I am to be born a Canadian.
