Film-maker Denis Abramsen of Tripod Productions will hold a workshop on Nov. 22 as part of B.C. Film and Television Week sessions in Kamloops.

Abramsen will discuss the role of the film-maker, reviewing production techniques from start to finish.

The session is part of a day-long event at the Plaza Heritage Hotel ballroom, presented by the Interior Filmmakers Society.

The event starts with Vicci Weller of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District film commission.

Danielle Dunn-Morris of River Magic Productions will hold a workshop on acting for the camera, reviewing how to communicate ideas and emotions to an audience through the lense of a camera.

The session begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

Abramsen’s workshop is at 10 a.m.; Dunn-Morris presents hers at 1 p.m.

Admission is free to society members and $20 for others.

The society’s annual membership fee is $20 for students, $30 for all others.

The society was created in 1998 by Weller and Barrie McLean, a director and producer.

It works closely with the film commission and also provides educational opportunities.
