Kamloops Mounties continue to investigate a car crash which claimed the life of a 36-year-old Kamloops woman.

Leah Cardinal was pronounced dead at Royal Inland Hospital after her Plymouth Reliant crashed head-on into a Ford pick-up truck on Tuesday night (Nov. 3) on West Victoria Street.

Police said witnesses reported seeing the woman's vehicle cross the centre line after rounding the curve coming off the Overlanders Bridge.

Her car slammed head-on into a westbound Ford F350 truck with two people inside.

A 41-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter in the truck suffered minor injuries and were treated at RIH.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.

RCMP Const. Cheryl Bush said investigators are looking into the circumstances of the crash, but a cause has yet to be determined.
