The arts come alive again in Kamloops

The schedule for the annual BC Living Arts fall series has been released:
■ Aug. 27: two free gardening seminars (5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.) at Bizarre Bazaar at the Old Courthouse, 7 Seymour St. W.) with Fearon Blair and Julie Gordon.
■ Sept. 12, Sept. 13: Canadian Cabaret, Kamloops Art Gallery, featuring the music of such diverse Canadian performers as Neil Young (anchor composer), Buffy St. Marie, Gordon Lightfoot and Jane Siberry.
Artists taking part include A New Light, Alan Corbishley, Allison Clow, Amy Baskin, Anita Eccleston, Ben and Katherine Bermiller, Classic Blend, Dale Rasmussen, Emily Eileen Harvey, Emily Jones, Erin Robertson, Heidi Starr, Jay Williamson, Jessica Dorer, Joy Simpson, Kate Morgan, Layah Davidson, Linda Stollings, Lynn Roste, Marian Truscott, Musicano, Nicole Russett, Peter Collins, Roxanne Hall, Scully and the Mulders, Serious Options, Sheanna James, The Mahers, Wesley Eccleston, Xuguang Zhang and Zoe Walter
■ Sept. 28: An interactive, multi-media event to honour the International Year of Astronomy and the 400th anniversary of Galileo’s first telscope discoveries, Thompson Rivers University Observatory. To register, call 250-571-5151.
■ Oct. 10: Hands-on photography workshop with Darwin Wiggett (darwinwiggett.com).
This event is in partnership with the Kamloops Photo Arts Club.
■ Oct. 19: Jazz pianist Chris Donnelly and wife, soprano Natalie Donnelly, perform at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
■ Nov. 1: NovemBEER Fest at the Brownstone Restaurant.
