A little bit of everything
Published: October 14, 2008 5:00 PMFor more than 50 years, Canadian bassoonist George Zukerman has plied the international touring circuit, where he is recognized as one of the very few world-acclaimed virtuoso bassoon soloists.
A surprise replacement for bassoonist Olivia Martin, Zukerman joins musicians Morgan Zentner, Sally Arai, Naomi Cloutier and Kamloops Symphony Orchestra music director Bruce Dunn in a performance that will kick off the KSO’s 2008-2009 Chamber Music Series.
Wind Werkes, a program that includes pieces by Mozart, Reinecke and Telemann and a transcription of two Inuit chants, will take place Saturday at the Calvary Community Church.

Season starts
Western Canada Theatre’s mainstage season begins tomorrow with God’s Middle Name by Jennifer Overton.
The drama is a An In Good Company production and provides a glimpse at the challenges and joys of parenting a child with autism.
The playwright writes about her firsthand experiences raising her son.
God’s Middle Name runs at the Sagebrush Theatre until Oct. 25.

Party time
B.C. Interior Music Awards nominee Earthbound will kick off a two-day party at the Colombo Hall this weekend.
Earthbound plays its original music Friday night and rock cover band Halo plays Saturday at 8 p.m.
