Several Kamloops businesses are up for 2009 Georgies, the provincial homebuilder award recognizing excellence in the industry.
Nominated are:
• Mibroc Construction, best single-family detached home, 2,000 to 2,999 square feet, for the Alpine Ski Retreat; best single-family detached homage valued at more than $2,000,000 and best kitchen over $1 million, both for the Ranch Manor;
• DW Builders, best residential renovation valued under $100,000, for the Heritage Home Addition; best residential renovation valued between $100,000 and $249,999, for the War Time Home renovation; best residential renovation valued between $250,000 and $499,999 for the Modern Dream renovation;
• Ground Sense Landscaping, best innovative feature for elements of the Dillon residence and for Seamless Serenity;
• Pulse Group Media and Communications Ltd., best advertising campaign for Cadence at the Lakes;
• Sun Rivers Construction Ltd., for Best Built Green BC builder of the year;,
• CHBA-Central Interior, best public-private partnership for the 2009 TRU/CHBA Central Interior training house.
The annual competition has drawn more than 400 entrants for the awards, which will be presented on March 13 in Vancouver.
