Sun graces golfers in wind-up

It was a beautiful day for golf as the sun shone down on participants in the recent men’s wind-up tournament at Eagle River Golf Course.

The great condition of the course was topped only by the legendary ribs served after the 18-hole scramble. The team of Sonny Jager, Arnie Veideman, Brian Oddy and Stan Koller took first place with five under par. One of the back leaders finishing second was the team of Jamie Hopkins, Jeff Krauss, Cal Bowman and Dale Kremer.

There was a tie for third that went into a sudden-death playoff, pitting the team of Jeff Primeau, Chubb Hogarth, Des Hamilton and Ian Skeet against Jaime Goodridge, Alex Bilokryly, Ed Dorion and Paul Robinson. After six holes with no winner, the two teams shook hands and called it a draw.

Glasses were kept full as a wide range of prizes were handed out. Two of the top prize draws went to Stan Koller, a pellet barbecue, and Jeff Krauss who won a houseboat trip.

Unfortunately, no one was lucky enough to win the $10,000 hole-in-one prize.

Organizers and participants of the event were thankful to all the businesses that donated prizes.
